Congrats to all of those recieving acceptances from Cornell and other places today.

I am interested in getting some drinks at MPSA, granted I am a teetotaler so I will be watching you all drink while I am sipping on water.

Sorry to ruin everyones Valentine's Day, I just got word from Ohio State, they have declined my application for admission. Well this was expected I have always been a huge Buckeye fan, but I am from Ohio anyway so loyalty to OSU is almost obligatory.

For those waiting to hear back from Ohio State, according to the woman I was in contact with said we should hear from the office of graduate admissions by the end of the week.

Definitely loving the BMW M5, it is one fantastic car. I hope to hear back from Ohio State, Penn State, Michigan State, Illinois, Maryland, and finally Washington-Seattle (However, I think this will be later this month).

Glad to see some people participating in my question, I hope it eased some tensions. To be more specific on which car I would not mind buying would either be a BMW Z-4 or a Jaguar XJ. Furthermore, with tomorrow starting possibly the most hectic week of notifications I just wanted to wish you all the very best of luck. I know you will become great scholars in your own right.

Alright in order to lighten up the mood around here I pose a question. What luxury car will you buy once you become a professor. For me it is a toss-up between a Jaguar and a BMW. Anyone else want to chime in?

Looks like someone is claiming the Stanford has called everyone that was admitted. While I did not apply to Stanford I know all of who did are of the highest excaliber.

Well I heard from Pittsburgh, unfortunately it was a rejection. It is sad because it was my top choice, but oh well. Congrats on those who have been getting admittances, best of luck to you all.

I will let you all know what the response is. For some reason, they maybe still in deliberations. I do not recall when the first acceptances started to appear, but it seems like it should not take this long to let us all know that we have been rejected so there maybe some hope for all of us. On a second note, Balthasar if I was a true "Sir" I think I wound not be having all this trouble getting into a graduate school to begin with, but I still appreciate the sentiment.

Well I emailed OSU just a hour ago to see what my status is, I also emailed Pitt. I sense both are rejections from my standpoint, Pitt one is really hard pill to swallow since it was my top choice.

I would not knock Florida State, my personal feelings based on my observations is that it is a great school with a decent placement history. While I do not know what your fields are, I would consider going, but that is only my opinion.

I agree with Adblanche, we are all trying to get the best possible option for all of us, and Tergellian is no different. All Tergellian was trying to do was ask a simple question and ask for our honest opinion, but because of this response, many more people who are just trying to plan out their respective futures will now be scared of asking because they are going to be afraid of replies like the one a few comments ago. I must say, from a personal standpoint, that I have a great distaste for those types of commentary.

I hate to be the Debbie-Downer but from my stand point my chances seem to be dwindling daily. I am still waiting to hear back from OSU and PSU, thanks Justanotherperson for the update regarding PSU, and with Maryland now giving out notices along with a few Pitt notifications, it is hard for me to remain optomistic.
