Transferring from a Top 10 to a Top 10
grantman replied to saltlakecity2012's topic in Political Science Forum
Good Afternoon Tergellian, First I would like to congratulate on the schools you have been admitted to thus far, you have a very difficult task ahead of you in making your decision. To address your concern all my findings are based off my personal feelings, so I really do not know how much this will aid you. I think you could transfer between schools, but the question really depends on the school you would be transferring to. Some schools may not accept the credits you have accumulated and transfer them over, some schools allow it, it just depends. Some schools usually have an FAQ section that might address this question better then I can, but I do know people have transferred to other programs, usually after acquiring their masters. I am sorry I could not be mich help in this section, and again I wish you the up most luck in your graduate studies, based on the programs you have been admiited to thusfar you will do great. -
Congrats! On another note, a Pitt reject came up on the results page, I am getting close to a full blown panic attack.
-
Congrats, that is an awesome program!
-
Congrats to everyone who heard good news today, I am sure you will come to do execptional things. I feel like I am becoming a broken record with my congrats, but I mean everything with the upmost sincerity.

Fortunately, you have been admitted to other programs, so at least you have the assurance that you will be going somewhere next year. Plus it is there loss, not yours.
-
Finally received my rejection from Vanderbilt, now I am 0 and 2. Again congrats to all those who recieved acceptances today, I look forward to seeing your exemplary in the near future.
-
Congrats to all of those who were admitted or waitlisted at the University of Chicago, that is an impressive feat regardless, best of luck!
-
My hope is the my high undergraduate and graduate GPA's help compensate for my low GRE's, but only time will tell I suppose.
-
The upmost congratulations to all of the ladies and gentlemen who have recieved acceptances, I wish you the best of luck in your future endavors.
-
Congrats on OSU, it is a great program and I know you you will do well there!
-
Recieved my first notification, I was denied admission into Texas. I expected that much, but still it hurts.
-
I appreciate your support, it means a great deal to me.

I hopefully will hear from Pitt, Ohio State, Texas, Penn State, and Vanderbilt. With the interview requests from Vanderbilt and the phone calls from Penn State, it looks like I will not be admitted to either one, even though Penn State was one of my top choices, oh well. Best of Luck to all of you this week, I am sure most, if not all of you will receive good news.
-
I would not say we have been rejected or waitlisted, for some reason it seems like a number of schools are sending out notifications in waves. However with that said, while Pittsburgh is my personal top choice, I still think my chances in getting in are rather slim given my catastrophically low GRE's scores.
-
Looks like Pittsburgh has begun to send out some more notifications, hopefully mine is not a rejection.
-
I wish I could, I also noticed a new slew of admittances for UC-Davis, congrats to those who were accepted. I just logged in to check my status and it stated all Maryland decisions would be through the mail, can anyone else confirm this?
-
Congrats again and to everyone who has recieved admittances this week, I know you will do great work.
-
Do not be so modest, Michigan saw the potential in you, that is why they chose you. Regardless of where you go I am sure you will do a great many things.
-
AWESOME! Congrats to you, I knew you get in. Best of Luck!
-
I have kept checking my appstatus and it still says my application is under review, but I have yet to see any additional movement.
-
Congrats to you three. I wish you all the best of luck in the future. Hopefully, down the road we cross each others paths.

Okay very cool. I deal with that a little since my area of interest is state-building and reconstuction efforts after a war, namely civil or intrastate war.
