Thanks for the feedback. My roommate, unfortunately, does not have solid stats. I think his GRE scores were like 160 Verbal, 164 Math, and 5 Writing; decent, but his GPA is somewhere around 2.7-2.9, I think. He has no research experience, no extracurriculars (unless you count surfing or going home to his girlfriend every weekend as extracurriculars), and he really doesn't even do any homework. I don't know how he's even graduating. But anyways, he got rejected by UCI and UCLA (where we attend now), but he's holding on to USC hope. Anyways, I'll probably try and convince him to break down and call them.

Hey guys, this is for my roommate. He applied to USC for Master's (Mech/Aerospace Engineering) right at the deadline (Jan15?Dec15?). He refuses to call them and it's really pathetic seeing him desperately check the mail everyday. He claims that USC only sends out admissions decisions via postal mail, but he doesn't know about this website. I checked the Results and I see that there quite a few acceptances via email, so he is wrong about that. I REALLY feel bad for him. I experienced the same thing with MIT: they always wait until the end to notify the rejects. Anyways, I am just trying to put a sick horse out of its misery and any information you guys could throw my way will be greatly appreciated.

Same here! Caltech just rejected me too. So here's what I have so far: I'm an undergrad at UCLA. I applied to UCLA's grad school and they lost my application. Their answer was basically "oh well, sorry." MIT and Caltech reject me the same day. UCI accepts me, but only offers me $16,000 per year. But hey, that's life, right? Sometimes you're on top of the world and then sometimes you have to roll with the punches and make the best of what you're given. Nonetheless, I thank God for the opportunity to even be at college. I know that He has an awesome plan for me, I just don't know what that is right now. Best of luck to you all in your future endeavors. Most of you got into some SOLID grad programs so I know you will go on to do great things. Congrats and God bless!

Rejected! Nonetheless, I am proud of myself for doing the best I could to get into MIT. I guess it's straight to work for me. The good thing about working hard for MIT (but not getting in) is that we have the accolades to get pretty much any job we want. We're the cream of the crop!

It is now 10:30PM MIT time and I still haven't received ANY email. Chances are, I won't get anything today. I have NO idea what's going on. One more restless night!

From an earlier post made by IITug, a call was made this morning to Beth Marois (MIT graduate administrator). She said there were still some acceptances to send out.

Prakash Shrestha, check out this link below. Look at the top two entries. There's a red diamond that will show stats. http://thegradcafe.com/survey/index.php?q=MIT+aeronautics&t=a&o=&pp=25

Thanks! So that means there's no way for me to find out until they decide they want to email me. The ball is SO in their court.

Sorry to hear that guys, but you guys still got accepted into some other REALLY strong programs. The best I've gotten so far is Aerospace at UCI, with a pathetic financial aid offer. Still nothing for me from MIT. They just like making me suffer!!! So anyways, when you guys log onto your application, does the letter show? Or do you just get the regular screen?

Based on previous years' results, it seems that any decision from March 1st and on is a reject. That's bad news, but the good news is that this year is leap year! One more day!!!!!!

Oh, I read that wrong...thought it was you! Man, I am so stressed out over this. I can't even do my homework. I keep trying to get into it, then I just get side-tracked here or on MIT's website.

Well, there's some more news on the "Results Survey." Someone was wait-listed today to MIT aero-astro. I'm sure you guys saw that already, but that most likely means that all acceptances are out and the rest are either wait-listed or rejected. What do you guys think?

Oh shoot, yeah....I forgot about those. I remember seeing those acceptances at like 3AM when I was burned out from working on an aircraft design project all day. My long-term memory must have been turned off. Nonetheless, I'm still not giving up hope.

Hey guys, I'm also waiting on MIT aero-astro. I've searched ALL OVER the internet and I haven't yet found one acceptance, so there's still hope! I have an email from Beth Marois (dated 1/4/12). She is the MIT graduate program coordinator. I'll paste the email below. I hope it doesn't add anymore confusion. Please, if anyone hears back ANYTHING about MIT aero-astro, please post here immediately. I'll do the same! Dear Eric, I'm writing to inform you that your Fall 2012 MIT Aero Astro graduate application is complete and ready for review. We have received all required materials. Your application will now be reviewed by our admissions committee, and you will be notified of our decision no later than March 1, 2012. Please let me know if you have any questions in the meantime. Best regards, Beth Marois

Well you certainly have some impressive accolades. It would have been nice to go to MIT, but the school is what you make it. I can tell by your record that you'll be a BEAST no matter where you go!
