  1. Hey CanuckBoy, would you mind if I ask your admissions stats? I'm not Mechanical, I'm aero-astro, but I assume we're still playing in the same ball field.
  2. Ouroboros313, thanks for the reply. Sorry for taking so long to respond but I've been so busy with school that I haven't had time to come back. I guess being so busy trumps the stress of waiting for grad school responses...that's one reason to be thankful for so much work!
  3. This is an email that I have from MIT aero-astro administrator. She doesn't work for the MSE department, but you can use it as a guideline. I still haven't heard back from them. As the letter states, they boasted a decision by March 1st. That's 3 days away! I'm getting a bit nervous.... Dear Eric, I'm writing to inform you that your Fall 2012 MIT Aero Astro graduate application is complete and ready for review. We have received all required materials. Your application will now be reviewed by our admissions committee, and you will be notified of your decision no later than March 1, 2012. Please let me know if you have any questions in the meantime. Best regards, Beth Marois
  4. Hey guys, I guess I'm just trying to chime in here. I've also applied to MIT Aero-Astro program for Fall 2012. I emailed back and forth with a gal named Beth Marois who is the graduate program director. She said admissions decisions will be released NO LATER THAN MARCH 1!! And I will only have my B.S. by the time I'm ready to start, but if I remember correctly, on the application it asks us to specify a short-term degree objective (obviously an M.S.) and also a long-term degree objective (Ph.D.). It seems that from what I've read here, that they WILL accept someone who just has a B.S. That makes sense too, because otherwise why would they have us waste our time (and money) on the application process? So I guess my question here is: does anyone know how long it will take (approximately) to go from the B.S. to Ph.D. ?? Thanks guys! Oh, and does anyone know if financial aid decisions are released with admissions decisions?
