  1. I have a recommend admit from UCLA's BME PhD program too. This has come as a pleasant surprise to me, being an undergrad from a university that is just about halfway to the top-tier where I come from. I am wondering what the typical timeframe is for UCLA BME admits to hear about lab placements, funding and not to mention, the official offer from the grad division? This, factoring in any correspondence with a PI who has hinted interest in their profile. Thanks!
  2. @koochipudi: Congratulations. I haven't heard anything back from UCLA yet, but I hear they will be sending out acceptances until' late in Feb.
  3. Has there been any news from these programs: UIUC Chemical and Biomolecular PhD, UCLA BME PhD, Northeastern BioE PhD?
  4. Hmmm, appears like I'm reaching high: Type of student: International Academic credentials: Undergrad from a Not-So-Bad university with an iGPA of 3.9. One year research experience in relevant field with one first-author publication in good international journal. GRE: Q-91%; V-98%; AW: 5.0 Applied for PhD with a specialization in microfluidic-bioanalysis to: UCB/UCSF BioE (a little too ambitious I suppose) UCLA BME UIUC ChBE Northeastern Univ BioE Georgia Tech BioE (in process) How apt it is for one to receive something like this in their email when they're waiting for admissions decisions: "If good things are coming, they will be a pleasant surprise," said the seer. "If bad things are, and you know in advance, you will suffer greatly before they even occur."
