  1. I am at GT, that's how I know some offers had been extended, I believe all have been extended now because we are in the midst of planning recruitment weekend.
  2. I know some people were asking about GA Tech, and I'm pretty sure all of the acceptances have been offered. I don't know if people have been notified if they've been waitlisted, and I dont think the rejections have gone out yet.
  3. I've heard similar things as well, but also learn what your research interests and end game are. For my interests (which is more O oriented), no one I applied to would care if I had HR interning experience or that I have a business minor(I have one, and was told before they'd rather see a stats minor, but my undergrad university didn't offer one), but that might matter for people whose interests are more I. And to be honest I feel like I wasted my time with my business minor because there was only 1-2 out of the 6 classes I had to take that were useful, and I wasn't allowed to take any other business classes that might have been. But all those things might be useful if you only want a masters and do consulting.
  4. One thing I've seen done is someone created a Facebook event page about the study and invited everyone they knew and asked other people to invite others. I feel like this reached a rather diverse set of people, and I would still worry about sample bias with this, but doing this would still be better than posting on your wall asking for help.
  5. I went to a recruitment weekend with someone who was accepted to Purdue I/O PhD.
  6. I don't think it hurts to ask about the status of your application, I've had schools send notification that I've been rejected, and then I've also emailed them and they responded that I was rejected. I think eventually schools will tell you if you've been rejected, but maybe its not a priority to them so it can take awhile?

I currently live in Florida, and I have all my life and I've never heard of that law. Right now I live with my boyfriend, and have known other people who have done the same. You will definetely not have a problem.
  8. Hey, I've been accepted at Colardo State, I found out earlier this month. The visit weekend is soon, and I was told admits and people on the waitlist were invited to that so I think the waitlisted people have been contacted by now as well. Sorry.
  9. I actually have a similar question. I think I know what I want to ask when I'm alone with the POI and lab, but I will be in a situation where I will be in a group setting with the other faculty and admits for a questions session, and I don't know what kind of questions I should be asking then.
  10. Just out of curiousity since my undergrad is here at USF, who is your POI for those waitlisted? One thing I know I'm doing is holding on to my acceptances until after the recruitment weekends (early March), I don't feel comfortable with making a choice until after I visit the schools. Where I was waitlisted was my top choice, and so I asked the program when they were inviting people out so I had an idea of when maybe people will start declining. Edit: I asked a grad student at USF how often they go to the waitlist, and she said it depends on the year, but she said iif your waiting on USF to see if you should take an offer somewhere else, you can contact the USF contact person to inquire where you are on the wailist.
  11. James, are you from the Florida area or just happen to have a lot schools in FL your applying too? gradguy, what James said is true. If you see other people have heard things I would call or email, or just sending a polite email to ask when they think decisions would be made is fine. I've done this with most of the programs I applied to and found out useful information pretty quickly.
  12. I missed a call from my POI from Colorado State. Called her back and got her voicemail, still no return call. Time to spend the weekend pulling my hair out in anxiety. My POI from GA Tech called me yesterday and told me I was accepted, they just made their decsicions on Wednesday, I'm not sure if anyone else was waiting on them.
  13. Colorado State told me they would make their final decisions about the first week of February, so at least you have a timeline for one of those schools.
  14. Applied (All I/O PhD) Michigan State (rejected) Penn State (assumed rejection) George Mason (waitlist) Georgia Tech Colorado State UCF
  15. I'm curious to know who was the GMU I/O acceptance, and their POI?
  16. Could you PM me your POI?
