  1. You have to take the doctoral fellowship (20,000 x4) as a Canadian abroad.
  2. Anyone else harass their grad faculty today to check the secure site?
  3. Sorry to hear about that wtncffts. Did you find out from your grad advisor or? This is the secure sshrc site you're talking about, yes? Oh god, this impending doom is frightening.
  4. Sorry to hear about it. Perhaps you received your letter already due to the exceptional circumstances of your case in which you were ruled out pretty much upon arrival at the federal level, because of the subject matter of your proposal was ill-suited to SSHRC. Otherwise, rejected proposals received notification at the same time as successful applicants. Could you tell us your location?
  5. Yes, but I think SMF1016 applied to SSHRC but was told to apply to CIHR next year. So the rejection letter is from SSHRC, I think.
  6. Where are you located? And the letter was from SSHRC?
  7. Were you a direct applicant? And I assume it's PhD?
  8. More or less the same thing he/she said on here. Quite vague, that he/she was honest, wasn't trolling, etc. So take it for what it is.
  9. Roquentin attests he/she's not a troll. No word from Dot.
  10. No, I wouldn't speak that way to colleague, but you're not a colleague. There's very simple ways to counter this generalized skepticism. If you would simply give some tidbit of info to put this 'letter sent to a select few' in context, it would help put the argument to rest. It simply doesn't make sense why one person would know while everyone else has heard nothing. Other people who've asked their grad advisors/grad faculty have been met with the response that even the 'secure site' has no info, and that's the only possible way one might hear before receiving a letter. Are you privy to information from someone on an adjudication committee? That's the only way it would make sense, IMO.
  11. Also, I think everyone who has won an award should post their score and stats like other years (discipline, year of study, pubs, conferences, and/or anything else that might have contributed to their success). And yeah, I'm still pretty sure we have a couple trolls on our hands. LAME if so, but I hope they are genuine. I come from a discipline based on the inherent corruptibility of humanity, so please forgive me.
  12. Mine also said early May. What school are you at Roquentin? And are you just Dot in disguise? I trust no one.
  13. Faculty of Grad studies at my school hasn't heard anything. So I don't think anything has been released to anyone.
  14. Way to make us look like a bunch of dicks, Dot.
  15. Yeah it seems strange. Maybe Dotlock has an inside scoop from somewhere. Presumably, though, if Dotlock's grad advisor was a member of an adjudication committee, and was willing to spill the beans, it would've happened more than a few days before everyone else is notified? Or maybe not. Or we have a troll. Or maybe people on the East Coast will find out tomorrow when their Grad Advisor's open their inbox? Aimless speculation...need closure.
  16. Are you in CSPT by chance? I also did my MA there, great place. So you're not bullshitting, I assume? Last year the letters got to us before the departments heard, but I know this has not been the case in other years.
  17. No one knows. But It was April 27 last year, so it's probably going to be the same or later.
  18. Yeah i'm going pretty crazy. Just like last year. I never want to go through this experience ever again. But it will probably be required of me.
  19. Last year results were sent out April 27. This year, my SSHRC was forwarded to the federal level one week earlier. Let's hope that means within the next 2 weeks, then!
  20. I think this person is at best confused and at worst, trolling. Nothing has been released for SSHRC. He/she is probably relaying information about NSERC results or maybe Vanier, which have been released. I don't think we'll hear for another 2 weeks, but that's just speculation.
  21. I think we're technically 2013-2014... because it's related to the year people will take up the award. So... no. Since Vanier and NSERC have recently come out, they may know, but it will be several months until it's entered into a spreadsheet (since people decline, change schools, etc.)
  22. NSERC results are out...slightly earlier than last year. Last year, I think they came out about a month before SSHRC, so if that timeline isn't totally misleading, then I'm guessing we'll see SSHRC results at the end of the month as planned, but who knows.
  23. Anyone know when direct applicants heard last year? I can't find it in last year's thread. Maybe that means the process is running much smoother this year.
