If I could like this I would but I ran out of likes for the day

Let's play the game of, "What happened last year?" Anyone know?
-
You know you're not going anywhere
-
Upon logging in to the demo site, this is the name: "NSF You aintgettingit" lol NSF. lol
-
You are right, she may not be the director. But I have reason to believe she has inside information, as she is quite experienced with the NSF process, and may have a heavy hand in it every year.
-
In case anyone wasn't aware, Robin Walker, director of the GRFP program, posted on the NSF GRFP LinkedIn profile 5 days ago: "Notification of awards/honorable mentions is just around the corner. Good luck GRFP applicants!" That was on....Wednesday of last week. So yeah

How do we know this isn't for next year?
-
I was awarded an Honorable Mention last year, and I want to include it in my application somewhere. I'm not sure whether to put it in the statements, or in the "scholarships" section. Does anyone have an opinion on this? Where did you include it?
-
Did anyone else have FOUR sets of reviews? IM/BI: VG/E VG/E VG/VG E/VG Honorable Mention
-
Off-topic, but probably for the best since we're all apparently stressing. Did anyone apply for the NDSEG? When do those notifications come out? The website says "April," but when?
-
It did this for me too. I came to the conclusion that because I graduated undergrad in Spring 2011, but I am a 1st year graduate student in Fall of 2012, that it was making sure that I am not a second year grad student. That's all I could come up with.

So after scouring the likes of craigslist, padmapper, etc., I realize that living near UCLA is going to cost a lot of money. I also have some skepticism about using these websites to find roommates to share an apartment with. Because of this, I've decided to just post on here about it. So... I want to move in to an apartment around July. I am a 23 y/o guy with a cool cat. I am coming from Baltimore, MD, so I want to find a place so that I'm not stranded when I get out there. Is anyone else looking for a roommate? Maybe we could get a few people together and split a 3-4 person place or even a house. Cheers!

newbruindphd, How did you accept the offer? I haven't received instructions on how to do so yet.
-
That's what mine says. I applied to Materials. The secretary told me last week over the phone that the Materials division hadn't actually finished making decisions yet. She said she hopes they'll be finished by the end of this week.

Pretty sure I'm going to accept my offer for Chem Ph.D. at UCLA! Anyone else going?

The website for my application to UW Madison was recently updated to say that I actually don't have an application for their program anymore. I know many people have heard from them, and it's not really my top choice, but should I be concerned that they possibly deleted my application?

I was recently accepted to both the UCLA Chemistry Ph.D. program and the Stanford environmental engineering and science M.S. program. UCLA is fully funded, with the possibility of a fellowship. Stanford is not offering any financial aid. UCLA is a great program, but let's be honest, Stanford does as well. And it's STANFORD. So...What would you do? And how would I even go about trying to support myself at Stanford? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

UM Twin Cities just updated my application status from "Awaiting Program Decision" to "Final Review." Thoughts?

Any word on UM Twin Cities or UW Madison? I know both have sent several letters out already, but does anyone know anything more about these schools?

Any Environmental Engineering PhD Applicants for Fall 2012?
fe3lg0odhit replied to kennedyofosu's topic in Engineering
kennedyofosu, There is an interview this Friday at Duke for CEE PhD. There was already one on January 20th. The next is this Friday the 3rd and then one more on March 23rd. My guess is they will be letting applicants know as they speak to the ones already invited to the interview. Hope this helps! -
this_isnot_here, I was accepted to UCLA on 1/5 (inorganic). I was in contact with a PI early on, and when I submitted my application he replied saying that he would tell the admissions committee to review my application "expeditiously." Good luck!
