  1. Given how incredibly slow they are to respond to emails or messages sent through the Application Tracking System, I'm learning very heavily toward sloppy management. Especially factoring in that applications are still marked as "incomplete" despite all items being present.
  2. Has anyone heard from Pitt yet? Still no change in my application status.
  3. coolboymike, I checked the site last week and saw my status had changed to "denied." If yours hasn't changed yet, keep an eye on it-- decisions appear to be rolling out. Oh, and I applied to the Media Studies Ph.D. program. Good luck to you!
  4. It looks like the original poster, enonce, deleted his/her post from this thread for whatever reason.
  5. Congratulations!!! That is such awesome news.
  6. Go to the Results page and type "Brown Media" into the search bar. One person has been notified thus far.
  7. Someone posted an acceptance for Brown's MCM program earlier today. He/she was notified by email. No GRE stats, GPA, or additional information was provided regarding his/her profile. No rejections have been posted for this season yet, though-- just this one acceptance.
  8. Shot down by UCSB. Oh, well. All that sunshine and fresh mountain air can't be good for you, anyhow.
  9. Finally caved and emailed UCSB regarding my application status. I was informed there have been many rejections and only a few acceptances thus far. I'm still in the running, and they should have decisions made by the end of the month. I've decided "still in the running" is celebration-worthy at this point.
  10. Bummer! But hey! You have gotten into a fantastic program at a great school with an envy-worthy funding offer. Not too shabby. And yes, the heat in Texas is kind of unreal. One summer when I lived there, the temperature broke 100 degrees every day for over thirty days straight. It was brutal.
  11. I have not received a funding offer from Temple yet; I've been told I should know sometime in April. However, I have been warned by some folks who know the program and have some inside information that it is possible I might not receive adequate funding given the budget crunch the city/university/department have faced recently. Without a solid funding package, I could not accept as I am trying not to burden myself with too much more student loan debt. So, I'm waiting to hear back from my remaining five programs, then funding at Temple. If it doesn't work out this season, I will most likely move back to Texas, as the job markets in Austin and Houston are substantially better than here in Louisville. Work (and pay down existing loans!), volunteer, retake the GRE to try to squeeze out a few more points, submit papers, reapply.
