Alternate to Sierra Leone. Just accepted a different fellowship that will allow me to complete my project, so I will not be remaining on the alternate list. Best of luck to all!
I'll jump into the fray on this -- I've been emailing him this week, as I have another opportunity that I need to let know by next Friday, so I wanted to know if we might hear by then. He basically said he can't guarantee a time frame, but we will hear by the end of the month. From the way he phrased it, I got the impression that the decisions have been made and he is just waiting on approval to send out notifications. Fingers crossed that we'll hear (early) next week!
Caramel08girl: maybe I missed it, but where in SSA are you applying? I'm a research applicant to Sierra Leone -- and am similarly going a bit crazy with this wait, despite knowing that we probably won't hear until sometime in April.
My project is looking at women's rights under customary legal systems.
What about other Full granters? I'd love to hear about the work others are proposing -- something to keep us occupied through the next stage!
I just looked at the spreadsheet and noticed that there was a filter on, which meant that most of the rows were hidden. Removed the filter and it all appears to still be there
Thanks, Espanya! I'd be based in Freetown, but hopefully doing work in the villages outside of Bo, Kenema, and Makeni. I did a summer internship there two years ago, so I'm excited I might get to go back!
Hi all-- posting for the first time. So glad I found somewhere to commiserate during the process.
Recommended for a full grant to Sierra Leone.
Any other Sub-Saharan Africa applicants out there??
