  1. I like how SAIS is doing this (Fletcher did a great job as well), instead of G-Dub saying things will be posted online on Friday YET people have been getting emails either today or before with acceptance letters. It's kind of annoying.
  2. I just saw on SSP's website that we will be hearing from them via email within 2 weeks. And what about MSFS? Has anybody heard from either one?
  3. The email I received from admissions (not the mass email we all got) said they will be mailing via post later this week, which means we won't physically get the letter until next week. As for those overseas, sorry...it'll be a bit longer.
  4. Nope, I didn't do Bologna, b/c I'm more Asia focused and I've been abroad for the past 4.5 years that I'm happy being back in the States. SAIS told me they're mailing things out this week, so hope there's good news for me after being waitlisted at Fletcher and SIPA.
  5. Hahaha, I really do think that "complete" means you're fine. But of course we all can be happy w/o SIPA. Why would we want to go somewhere that doesn't want us, right? ;-) I'm worried about GT actually. I forgot to send two transcripts to each SSP and MSFS programs even after they requested people to do so, but too late now. Waiting for SAIS is killing me the most!
  6. Oops, sorry, I wasn't very specific with my post. I only received the email b/c I asked them to update my current mailing address. I was worried they overlooked my exp. date for my current address in Shanghai and mailed something there by mistake. So they told me letters will be mailed out this week.
  7. Oh no, so sorry to cause all this frenzy about missing documents. I knew because the system said incomplete next to LoRs. I'm sure if yours says "complete" it really means it's complete.
  8. Cornell07, curious, why are you learning Cantonese? It's only spoken in HK, Vancouver, some parts of Southern China, and dim sum restaurants. Even in HK, companies were looking for people fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese, and English.
  9. Dude, SIPA lost on of my LoR's! It was from my college professor, a SAIS alum. I think they did it on purpose ;-) Anyways, I was waitlisted earlier in the month. I noticed a number of people have been waitlisted as well. That brings my chances of getting in is .00000001%.
  10. Yeah they told me they will be mailing it out the third week of March, which means they may mail it out as late as Friday. So we may not hear til next week. But yes, he said via snail mail. Hopefully, he was being truthful!
  11. I got an email today saying they will be mailing them out later this week, so hopefully we'll get them early next week!
  12. Sroek, what other schools have you gotten into so far? I'm deciding among UCSD, DU, and AU and been waitlisted at SIPA and Fletcher and waiting on SAIS, GW, and GT. I was going to pick UCSD over DU b/c I have another college friend there and she absolutely loves it. She loves the students, courses, accessibility and caliber of professors, student life, and sense of community. The professors there for China studies are amazing and employment stats were pretty good as well. I also like how down-to-earth yet driven the students were. The guy I met from career services at the APSIA forum in Beijing was helpful and cont. to be helpful after I was admitted. I esp. like the fact I can have both a prof and regional track. Yeah, so I'm confused as well.
  13. Thanks for your thoughts! Haha, now, I'm even more confused...I'm still waiting on GW and GT. What did he say about GW and GT's security studies programs?
  14. I was also accepted to DU's Int'l Security program, and I would love to go there for various reasons, including snowboarding! So put student ski passes on the strengths  On a serious note, I have decided not to attend DU b/c I had some reservations about the teaching style. Also, I want to be in D.C. for the network and jobs/internships. I have a college friend who is now at DU...while she's very impressed by the students (esp. the security track peeps), the curriculum, and the overall atmosphere, she's been disappointed with the faculty. She doesn't feel like classes at DU are as intellectually stimulating as the classes we had while we were at Vanderbilt. I know I'm only taking one person's perspective, but I didn't want to pay tons of money for school and then, kick myself and say why the hell did I not listen to her?
  15. Yeah, about SIS, how is it viewed among employers in the D.C. area in comparison to the other D.C. schools?
  16. I called the admissions office and it seemed like I got the typical, well-rehearsed response from a grad student that they will be mailing out decisions 3rd week of March. And I, too, haven't received one email from them except for thanking me for submitting my online payment. So, I guess we shouldn't worry? But has anyone been accepted/rejected/waitlisted at all to MSFS and SPP? (I applied to both) Speaking of not hearing from peeps, what about Elliott? Seems like 2-3 people have received emails saying they're "likely to admitted". What school sends out emails like that? Kinda strange...and if I didn't receive an email like that, then, should I assume Rejection?
