  1. So thus far MPP and MPA-ID has heard. Is this correct? Still left is MPA2, MC/MPA and MC/MPA Mason.
  2. Congrats to those who got in! The waiting is even tougher now. I know MC/MPA will be most likely last but I wonder how much longer. Tomorrow? Next week? I can't take it!!!!
  3. Good point! It's that darn blog causing a false sense of their time management. I suppose I felt optimistic because the site originally said April 15 for MC/MPA so anything before that would be much appreciated.
  4. It's so close! I think some decisions were sent late last year but that doesn't appear to be the norm. They seem to be on top of it this year.
  5. Okay, so if the New Admit day is April 1st can we assume all programs will have their decisions out by then? On their website it has the MC/MPA decision deadline as April 15th which doesn't seem to coincide with any dates that were mentioned in the blog.
  6. It looks like the blog has some useful information and it is at least something for us to read over and over while we wait.
  7. I was surprised to see that they decided to start a blog in the middle of reviewing applications. The blog is great but what would be better is application status notification!
  8. I just want to hit March. After reading some of the threads from last year it seems that decisions were really late coming out. What an agonizing process this is!
  9. I actually contacted HKS awhile ago asking about the employment rate for graduates of their programs and I never heard anything back. I don't know why I thought they would have and share that information but it seems like an important piece. My biggest fear is graduating and being unemployed/underemployed. Of course I would first need to be accepted ; )
  10. Hi Maestro- did the email ask if you wanted to switch or notify you of the switch? I know from reading the forums from last year's applicants that HKS was automatically switching applicants to other programs without notifying them. This could be why they are now sending a notification email. I did email the director back and switch to MC/MPA.
  11. Me too! Even though I know we are long from hearing anything. I just keep reading all of the old threads as if that will somehow give me the answer I am looking for.
  12. Is anyone else already going crazy waiting already? I don't know how I'm going to get through the next (potentially) 7 weeks. How is everyone else managing?
  13. What about some volunteer work at an international non-profit? Perhaps strengthen other areas of your application other than academics. You can get some incredible experience through volunteering plus make great connections. I'm sure taking some classes wouldn't hurt either.
  14. Thanks for your responses. It's difficult to find acceptance information but from what I gather it is easier to gain admittance to the MC/MPA program. It's also a savings of around $30,000 which doesn't hurt. I do agree that the networking and life experiences will be much richer in the mid career program. I am going to email today with my decision to switch. If I get rejected now it will be much harder to take than if I was rejected before this email!
  15. I have been searching for hours and I can't find anyone discussing this scenario. I applied to the HKS MPP program. Today I received an email from the director of admissions stating: Greetings from Harvard Kennedy School. The Admissions Committee has had the opportunity to complete a preliminary review of your file and I have been asked to contact you regarding your intended program of study. You may or may not know that HKS offers four different Master programs. Each program has a general profile and some have specific qualifications. While it is acceptable for applicants to choose the program s/he thinks is the best fit, occasionally the Committee will ask me to contact applicants to confirm with the applicant the course of study the applicant feels is best. Based upon the amount of work experience you have, you do qualify for our Mid-Career MPA Program. After you have had a chance to review this information, please let me know if you wish to continue to be considered as an MPP applicant or if you would like to be considered for the Mid-Career MPA Program. The Committee will only review applicants for one program – we will not consider an applicant for two programs. I should note all of our programs are fiercely competitive. When you have had the opportunity to review this email and the links provided please reply and let me know your decision. If you have questions you are welcome to email them to me. Has anyone heard of this or know anyone that this happened too? I earned my undergrad in 2002 and have been working full time for exactly 7 years so it isn't as if I applied with an exorbitant amount of experience. I'd appreciate any comments!
