  1. I don't have much to add to this conversation, but I would definitely recommend Koodo as far as cell-phone companies go. I was with them for a year and it's very inexpensive, and they are really helpful. The only reason I switched to Telus was because I wanted a smartphone. I regret switching. I have basically the same plan I had with Koodo (plus data) and it costs me twice as much.
  2. I have no practical experience here to draw on, so I'll just tell you what my UG thesis advisor told me when I was choosing schools. A good fit with a professor is the most important part of grad school. The actual school itself doesn't matter much, as long as the professor is a good supervisor and you're interested in their work. That being said, I'm in Canada, and the rankings/prestige/etc of schools seems to play less of a role in future career/academic prospects here than in the U.S. So if you're from the U.S., maybe somebody else has different advice for you. Also, as a final note, you mentioned the stipend was better at School A. If money is really going to be an issue for you, then I would take that into consideration as well. I get very anxious about money, so it is an important factor in my decisions. But, if it's not going to be a big issue, then I wouldn't prioritize it as much.
  3. I'm in exactly the same boat!! I'm not sure if she's in town or not.. maybe she is around for admissions? She did email me saying "admissions are going at snail's pace as usual, I'll let you know if I hear anything"....
  4. Huh... hard call. Could be she meant about that school or she could just mean that you're clearly bright and will get in somewhere... But I'd lean towards the former, otherwise why would she risk getting your hopes up? Obviously all conjecture... Unfortunately, we are not mind-readers. I'd keep your chin up though, you haven't heard anything, so that's better than a rejection! (Yes, cheery thought, I know.)
  5. While, we're on the topic, I received an intriguing email from my UG thesis supervisor (who also wrote my LORs). I told him I'd been accepted at one of the schools I applied to, and was still waiting to hear back from my top choice. He responded with: "I was just talking to [POI at top choice]; I think it sounds like she is interested in a new Masters student as well- might be a better match for you (she has more graduate students and more interaction in her lab), so wait until you hear from her before you make any commitments." I understand that there is a very clear-cut way to read this. But I can't help driving myself crazy wondering if he has inside info that he is trying to hint at without directly saying anything... Opinions?
  6. @Hugh10 That actually makes perfect sense. I felt the same way while writing my undergrad honours thesis. The more I learned about the topic, the less I was able to explain it to others. Unfortunately, I possess no great wisdom for you.
  7. Congratulations
  8. @Divigen How did you hear from them? Did your POI email you?
  9. I applied to the Experimental Psych program at Dal, but I haven't heard back yet... *crosses fingers*
