"Short Waitlist" MA Statistics Columbia University

Oh ok, thanks. I am also really curious as to how many people are put on the waitlist and who, if any, have been rejected. It doesn't help that I applied really late. It was weird that I was placed on the "short waitlist" after only a day of me submitting my application. -
Does anyone know if this waitlist is truly a "short waitlist" or do they just place everyone there? Does anyone know of people who have been rejected from the program?

Does anyone know how difficult it is to get into Columbia's MA in statistics program? According to the NYTIMES their big data emphasis is a relatively new one. Would like to know how admit-tees felt about the application process. Thanks!
