I emailed Boston U, specifically Maurice Lee, for feedback and he said there were too many applicants to do that. I should ask my counselors/guidance people/etc for feedback on my materials. Sorry pal, but I've been out of school for a few years, TEACHING college students. Not really a line of people supporting my efforts. What a joke!

Why would they want people who only have a Bachelor's? Honestly, when I told the chair of my department (the one I teach for) he was flabbergasted. I have 5 years of college teaching experience, awards, etc...just weird. Oh well, bit of a vent I guess.

Hopefully soon...BU was the only school I applied to (a problem, I know). Perhaps there's some luck for a local boy...

When applying for MFA's, oh, 5 years ago now, I could afford 6 applications and other materials...got into 2, great degree, awesome years, etc. But I was IN academia! Now, I'm a mercenary teacher (see vagrant adjunct) and barely have enough time to grade 6 classes worth of essays, nevermind write a scholarly sample, etc. So I could only afford 1 place...only 1 app! Boston University...may the Acceptance Gods not label my experience and focus "not distinctive". Good Luck everyone!
