  1. Thanks. Yeah, I definitely had a more stoic attitude to the process before I started going through all these posts a few days ago.
  2. My work is at the intersection of Political Theory and IR. I'm primarily interested in non-Western political theory, specifically that from Hindu and Islamic cultures. Much of the philosophical output of those civilizations is studied through the religion or philosophy departments of most institutions. It used to be the same thing for East Asia too, but that's starting to change as people are studying Chinese ideas for these political philosophy in addition to their ethical, philosophical, or religious ideas. I'm interested in studying the political philosophy primarily of India and more generally of South Asia and the Middle East. I'm also interested in the intersection of religion and theory and history and theory and on that line, I've done some research on Hegel, Spengler, and the like. That's all theory wise. What I'm trying to do with my research is connecting that stuff to the actions and norms of the foreign policies of countries in those regions, specifically India and Pakistan.
  3. Hey guys, I'm a new user on these forums, but I've been lurking from time to time. What are these surveys you're talking about? Who puts them out- are you making them yourselves based on what people are saying on the forums? I saw that a couple of people were inquiring about Northwestern. I can claim one of the NU acceptances. Congrats to the others who got in! My major subfield is actually IR while my minor subfield is theory.
  4. I really didn't want to take any chances. I know for sure that this is what I want to do, and I don't really have anything else lined up, so I'm totally sure that come what may, I'll be going to a PhD program in the Fall. So I wanted to maximize my choices as much as possible. Considering the fact that I'm 1 for 6 right now, I think applying to so many was a good idea.
  5. I'm also applying straight from Undergrad for a Political Science PhD. I applied to a lot of schools- 21- to increase my chances lol.
