Do you have the letter "T"? I think it's just like a check mark, no more.

I think the problem lies with the term 'implicit rejection'. Look at this, from the board yesterday: Yale Graduate School Of Arts And Sciences Department Of Political Science (IR), PhD (F12) Accepted via E-mail on 20 Feb 2012 ♦ A 21 Feb 2012 email from POI said to expect 5 years full funding. Total shock because others on gradcafe had been contacted for an interview over the past couple weeks and I wasn't. Moral of the story: Be careful with assumptions. We should be realistic, but not so determinedly negative. -

Thank you for this bespeckled- I'm with you! It's not over til it's over! And even if we don't get it this time, we can comfort in knowing that amazing minds before us also had a rough time in getting accepted. Derrida for example! -
Plan B Suggestions

Are we still doing 'plan B's? Can I move to Paris? -
(Thanks for your reply arrivant )

Congratulations again! May I ask, what are you guys's fields of research? I'm asking cuz its almost 3AM here and I should sleep instead of clicking 'refresh'. Maybe you're all Renaissance scholars and I can go to sleep

WOW! Congratulations!! Just now?? (No sleep for me then.. )

Thank you for your insight (not a broken record) - this is good enough for me As it is I don't think I have much chance with Chicago, just got tired of checking and waiting so I emailed, then thought someone else might enjoy the info provided!
-
Hi all, Don't know if this helps anyone, but I've emailed Chicago (just to know if I should even keep checking the app status) and this was their reply: Admissions decisions are completed over a period of time, and are released over this period. When your decision has been released, you will receive an email informing you that your decision letter has been posted on the application website. All decisions should be announced by the end of February or in early March at the latest. So... all hope is not lost? I guess they're waiting for the 25 accepted (according to above comment) to say yes or no! Anyway, do with this info as you will. Good luuuuck!

Hello - - Sorry if you already spoke of this - lots of pages in this thread! What do you all think of the idea of emailing the universities (the admissions director or whatever) while one waits? Recommended? Fruitful? Pointless? -
Hello Nice forum you have here! I'm new and I have a question. Could it be (I hope it could be) that international (non-US) students get replies after the local applicants? Any other non-US applicants out there that can approve or disprove this hypothesis? Thanks! Good luck to everyone, this waiting is horrible.
