Hi All, I'm curious to know if anyone has applied or is applying to doctoral programs in a foreign language/literature. I'm applying to PhD programs in German right now, and I'm very uncertain of what my chances are of getting in, particularly because my undergrad degree is in German and religion, and I'm currently doing an MA in religion. The nitty gritty looks like this: GREs: 700V, 730Q, 5.5W Grades: 3.68(undergrad GPA); MA program does not do GPA, but if they did it would be around a 3.7 Writing sample: I think it's pretty strong Recommendations: I think they're probably strong. Institutions: My undergrad institution is top 20 research U; MA institution is top 5 research U Where I'm applying: I'm basically applying to 6 places that are probably top 15 programs Does anyone think I stand a chance, particularly with my background in religion?
