  1. Awarded! E/E, E/E, E/VG. Question: How do I change my proposed institution? I got rejected from the place I put down and will be attending another school.
  2. So I got my November GRE subject test scores today and I did (surprisingly) much better on them. However, I wrote my October scores on my applications (deadlines are in like 2 days!) when I submitted them thinking I did worse on the November exam. I would like to submit my November scores, but as I can't change my application, I'm not sure what I should do. Should I just submit my new scores and just send them an email saying that I would like them to update my application? Or should I just submit my scores and hope that they'll see them? Has anyone else been in a similar situation?
  3. After I finished answering all the questions on my application (running on applyyourself), I decided to preview the application before submission. When I opened the PDF, it gave me an error message saying that "the form may be displayed, but it might not work properly. Some form elements might not be visible at all." Then when I opened it, I noticed some of my text was cut off (in the sense that I could see the tops of certain letters in certain places). None of my entries exceed the character limit, although in some cases they're close. Will I be fine in submitting my application? Does anyone know what the department sees when I submit my graduate application? I should note that if I try to print my application as html, all things are displayed.
  4. So I got a pretty mediocre score on my GRE subject test, but I've got a pretty good general score and I think my app in general aside from my subject test is pretty good. Should I bother to submit my subject score?
  5. Perhaps this might be relevant? http://www.agiweb.org/workforce/reports/NSF-Geoscience_GRFs2000-2009.pdf
  6. Not all my references have been submitted yet, I presume that after one submits the application, one can still check the status of the recommendation letters?
  7. I'm currently writing the personal history statement for the UC applications. The prompt reads as: My ethnicity is over-represented in the area I'm studying in (theoretical physics) and I grew up in fairly comfortably in a middle class household. I never really volunteered and even when I did it was for tutoring top elementary/middle school kids. Though I do have relatives that are really poor, I've never really met them so I can't really talk about them. So how does one approach this question?
  8. Er, so I accidentally created 2 applications (or actually accounts) for the same place because I forgot my username until after I created my second account. Will this cause any issues when I submit my application?
