  1. Yeah. I just got an email from the head of the admissions committee saying Washington had 283 applicants for 12 spots, and budget cuts limited the number of spots they had this year. In case anyone was wondering.
  2. I was just rejected from UW Seattle as well. And Notre Dame. So unless I get good news from Georgetown or UConn, it looks like I will either be at Washington State or Oregon.
  3. Claiming the Washington State admit. Offer of a TA position, official letter is in the mail with all of the details, but the admissions committee wanted "to give me the courtesy of a phone call."
  4. I know. I grew up in the middle of nowhere, so I am used to be being a land-lubber. The Pirate is more the mascot of my undergrad institution, so it worked in a pinch for a forum name. I am relieved to be in somewhere.
  5. I just got in at U Oregon. I am glad to know I wont be taking a year off next year too!
  6. Thanks! Hopefully I start hearing from schools soon, though I am not optimistic about some of them, given the number of acceptances that have already gone out from them to people. But, as professor of mine had been telling me, no news can be good news.
  7. I am (hoping to, anyway) go straight from undergrad into a Ph.D. program as well.
  8. That's great. One of my undergraduate minors is in Diplomacy and IR, but I realized I just realized I am more interested in the courts as agents of government.
  9. I believe I applied for U.S. Politics as my subfield. My research interest is the Judiciary as a branch of government, particularly public law, legal theory and judicial behavior. What about you?
  10. I am still around as well, though I did discover GradCafe relatively recently. I have 6 of my schools that I still haven't heard from, and even though I know some people have, I am going to try and remain optimistic until I am officially rejected from any of them.
  11. I am still waiting to hear from Oregon and UConn myself, though I haven't had any contact with any of them so I can't help you out. Hopefully we hear soon (though I did see you heard from Oregon and claimed the acceptance. Congrats!).
  12. I emailed the ND DGS yesterday, Christina Wolbrecht, asking about when notifications will be all out, and was told that they have started sending them out but that it is an "on-going process that will likely not be resolved for several weeks," but that they would notify me as soon as possible.
  13. I am still in limbo with them too. Here is to hoping that we aren't out yet.
