  1. Thanks cunninlynguist. Needless to say, it is nice to concentrate solely on getting back into the school mode, moving, etc. versus choosing which program to pick. It sounds like your plan to wait may be a good one. Not only to hopefully garner additional funding next time, but to also save up that much more money. I've been working the past four years post-undergraduate to do just that. Also, I've been awaiting the official letter in the mail, so good to know that it's on its way.
  2. Decided on the Duke EE program, so headed to Durham this fall! Pretty excited. Declined spots at Bren and CU Boulder - so that should hopefully open up some spots. Just for future reference to anyone interested in MEM-style programs related to energy, and only because these programs haven't received much attention on this forum, the programs at UC-Berkeley and UT-Austin are also seemingly very good, and worth considering. Good luck to everyone awaiting decisions and to those trying to finally decide. See some of you in Durham this fall. On a side note, I'm headed out to Durham in two weeks to check out the school and housing, since I won't be able to make it to the Admitted students weekend. They informed me that as long as you check out the school before May 1, you can still apply for the $200 travel reimbursement. Also, I noticed this on here earlier, I received a $14k scholarship, and was told that it would carry into the next year, so hopefully that answers someone's questions, as I only briefly perused the forum.
  3. Schools Applied To: Duke (MEM), CU-Boulder, UCSB-Bren, UC-Berkeley-ERG, UT-Austin-EER Program Schools Accepted To: Duke Schools Rejected: UC-Berkeley Undergraduate Institution: Colorado State University Undergraduate GPA: 3.9 Undergraduate Major: Forestry/Natural Resource Management GRE Quantitative Score: 780 GRE Verbal Score: 600 GRE AW Score: 4.0 Years Out of Undergrad (if applicable): 4 Years of Work Experience: 6 Describe Relevant Work Experience: Four summer seasons and two full years with the US Forest Service; enviro consulting firm past two years Just saw this board after searching around; had previously only taken advantage of the accept/reject portion. Thought Duke was a long-shot, so I'm pretty stoked. Most likely headed to Durham this fall, unless I got a good scholarship at UCSB-Bren or UT-Austin (which I don't consider likely, given their funding situations). I'm from Colorado, so only had CU-Boulder as a safe school.
