God, yes. My undergrad wasn't in English, and since I'm finishing up an MA in writing, my contemporary knowledge is good, but not the classics. I scored a 90% on my verbal GRE and a dismal 23% on my Literature subject test. It's so terrible it's almost funny, in a way. I applied to USC and University of Denver as well as some other Literature programs without a creative focus. Maybe they won't pay too much attention to the subject test...

I haven't heard from Alabama either, not a peep. I'm guessing that since I haven't gotten an acceptance, a waitlist, or a rejection, I'm in some kind of a maybe pile.

I applied to the MFA/PhD program--no word yet, but I didn't really expect one this soon. My GRE Lit scores were pathetic, and my critical writing sample was awful... but still, it's in my top three.

I applied to the Literature/Creative Writing program at USC. I haven't heard anything yet. I would love to be in the program, but I know it's a slim-to-none chance of getting in. I'm in thesis right now and should graduate with an MA in May.
