  1. I know, man. Shit is definitely getting to me. haha. I only applied to 6 schools so each one seems momentous. I remember waiting for college acceptance way back when and basically all the schools announced on the same day. That was a piece of cake compared to this slow trickle of information to decide your fate.
  2. Welp. Looks like it's time to abandon all hope if the generic emails have been sent out.
  3. Thank you for the confirmation. Have any Theory people heard from Yale? I figure that I have hope until the Theory member of the Committee sends out emails. I wish it was socially acceptable to drink whisky in class at 12pm.
  4. More Yales on the board. Can anyone claim one? Very unclear about whether these are real or not.
  5. First Yale acceptance on the results page. Uh oh, here it comes.
  6. You are probably rejected from the PhD and being considered for a scholarship for their MA.
  7. Haha. Calm down dude (or dudette), I was playing around to pass the time! As I was on the last page, I remain thankful for the information, and my pitchfork remains securely sealed in my cabinet. (I was hoping the over the top biblical quote would've been a tip-off as to my connotation)
  8. Why hast thou deceived me so?
  9. Hmm. Someone on the Results page mentioned that the International Studies Association Conference is going on from Feb. 18-21. I wonder if that means that there won't be a lot of decisions this week.
  10. Past input on the results page show a mix of website notifications, emails from POIs, and phone calls. I wouldn't put too much stock into the method of communication. In regards to timing, it's quite possible that people hear over various days, as the previous poster indicated. We shall see. *twiddles thumbs anxiously*
  11. If I stare at my phone enough, will that cause it go off?
  12. Thank you for your clarification, and for your information. I really appreciate that you are helping us out here with this info. It makes the stress much more bearable knowing that there is a specific date at which it might end in regards to specific programs. This policy of not notifying applicants that they are on some sort of informal waitlist occurs in multiple different departments at UCLA, which makes me think that they might have some sort of university-wide policy in place regarding their waitlists.
  13. Today seems uncharacteristically quiet. Too quiet. I hope the poster on the previous page was right that Yale will release tomorrow.
  14. 1) Harvard has never sent acceptances on a Sunday and some of them claim they received the email on 2/15 2) None of them provide any information 3) Harvard has never released before 2/22, and the last two years they released in the first week of March. I'm going to say fake.
  15. Thank you very, very much for this information. *crosses fingers*
  16. I doubt H or Y will release today (I think Y will be next week and H the week after), so I guess that I have another restless and whisky filled weekend ahead of me. This process is turning me into an alcoholic.
  17. Welp. There goes my hope. Congrats. *anxiously waits for Harvard and Yale*
  18. Wait, so Princeton isn't done? Very confused. Any theory people hear from Princeton? Maybe they notify by subfield?
  19. Rejected from Columbia and no news from Princeton. Those sting super hard. Was the email from the Princeton DGS a form email, or individually directed?
  20. Oh yea, I know. I'm just bitter because idgaf about their money grab (aka MAPSS). PhD or GTFO.
  21. Well at least they have the decency to be quick about it. Kudos to them. *leers menacingly at Chicago*
  22. Welp. I assume Columbia is done. Who wants to wager when HYP start to move? I'm thinking Y and P will both be next week and H will be the last week of Feb or first week of March.
  23. It's very annoying that the statuses are not changed at the same time for both accepted and rejected applicants. I just want to know that I'm rejected so that I can write them off and move onto praying to the shrine of my other schools.
  24. I don't see any on the results page. Are you cryptically saying that you got a notification?
  25. Here's the updated look at NYU's placement for the class of 2006: http://politics.as.nyu.edu/docs/IO/4610/NYU_Placement.pdf The Class of 2006 currently has 4 TTs, 5 post-docs, 1 NTT, 1 still ABD. 6 dropped out, which can occur for various reasons and there is no evidence to impute that onto the Politics department itself without evidence. Therefore, out of 12 people, 4 already have TTs and 5 are taking the right steps to get them in the future. I hardly see how those numbers are poor at all. As I've said before, I agree with you that a dose of realism is beneficial for people who are making the decision to enter graduate school, especially in a field such a political science with a sub-optimal TT market right now.
