Mac Property Management owns a large number of apartment buildings in the Hyde Park neighborhood (http://www.macapartments.com/). I went with a smaller firm (Marian Realty) that had posted a low-rent studio on Craigslist. They've been great so far. I would recommend calling the places on this list and seeing what's available: http://apartments.uchicago.edu/realtors ... elist.html You stand a better chance of finding a deal that way.

Applied to Chicago, Berkeley, Princeton, UNC, Columbia and Yale's Ph.D. programs. I'm not sure what to expect at this point... Obviously, I'd be thrilled to get into any of these programs.
