fso2k11 - check out line 33.. someone from Tajikistan said they got the budget email.. sorry, just thought I'd point it out... I keep waiting for someone to put up they got one for Russia but it hasn't happened yet.. but that may not mean anything since 6/90+ applicants can't be representative.. ugh, just a few more days!

Hello all. So, I let go of Boren for a little while, but now that we have this new, handy-dandy spreadsheet my worry-mode is kicking in again. I noticed that the other Russia applicants (the 1 fellowship and 1 scholarship) have not received budget emails. We did have an individual a few weeks ago get a budget update request for Eastern Europe/Eurasia, but there are about 25 other countries and the person wasn't specific. So, we don't yet have a representative sample - 2 out of the 30ish fellowship applicants have responded... so if anyone who can add any information about Russia budget updates would PLEASE fill out the spreadsheet form, it would be *most* appreciated. Maybe then I can sleep at night and know whether to give up or embrace the tiny glimmer of hope that still remains! спаси́бо!

I'm wondering if they announce people in a certain order, those who pass, alternates, those who do not move on.. One girl from my uni with the same country choice was notified two weeks ago, and I still haven't heard anything... I just emailed and called Rachel Holskin and am waiting to hear the explanation.. I'm guessing it will be a similar reason for why one German ETA has heard and some others have not.. I have no idea the way they do it - it is truly a mystery at this point

I am a Boren applicant to Russia and also haven't heard.. I can't necessarily see a trend in US geographic regions, but there does appear to be a clear pattern in where one applied and who is finding out... Eurasia and Eastern Europe still hasn't shown up yet, so I'm still holding out hope!

When posting whether or not you got the budget email request, can everyone please post the country to which they intend to travel so we can keep a record of whether or not it is regional, and if so which regions might be receiving emails at certain points? Thank you!!!

Can I just say that this is a disappointing week - I'm always happy to think someone at least is getting some relief from the suffering of waiting, but this week hasn't had many 'one more down!' feelings for me... do you think the fulbright people lurk in our forum and enjoy torturing us so? 6 months is my patience threshold, I'm going nuts!

No, my adviser is predicting we will hear about the budget deal this week or next.. undergrad boren budget is being updated this week for sure, grads might not get the email til next week - at least that's what I was told

UK, Belgium, and German fulls at least have found out... no France yet though, OR EU

regarding who sends out notifications - one of the applicants from my uni received an email about the EU from someone in the host country, not the IIE - she was an alternate.. so if you get an email from a name other than IIE make sure to pay attention to it in case it's the golden ticket!

Any word on when results for full grants to the EU are normally released?
