Hey, everyone. So, here is my question: I know it is standard procedure (at least in my field) to thank anyone who interviewed with you over a recruiting weekend, but how about the program director? I did not interview with him personally, and did not have too much one-on-one contact with him. I don't want to seem rude by not sending something when I should, but I also don't want to seem like I'm pandering by sending an unnecessary thank-you. It's been a couple of days at this point, but I don't think it's too late to send something if it's a good idea. I have already sent out thank yous to the professors I interviewed with, and a couple of graduate students who were particularly involved in the weekend, and helpful. Also, if I do send him a thank you, what exactly should I say? There isn't much of anything we talked about together- so should I just talk about the helpfulness/informativeness/superduperawesomeness of the weekend, and thank him for the invitation (he is the one who sent them personally)? Anything I'm missing? Any insight on this matter would be greatly appreciated!
