  1. I did notice the pictures. I imagine it'll be like the international experience of living in a Soviet apartment building.
  2. Wait, it's a full bed? That's awesome haha. I didn't do enough research, apparently =D
  3. Rita Atkinson was definitely my top choice. I like the fact that it's pre-furnished (really cuts down on the hassle of buying furniture for only two years) and relatively cheap. Hopefully we'll get in.
  4. If you haven't already, make sure to get on the grad housing waitlist, I hear that it can be tricky to get in. The actual housing people said that you don't find out if you get an offer until a month prior to when you indicated that you move in, so you may want to find a backup. That being said, housing also told me that by October it should be easy to get placement.
  5. That's great to hear! I was a little torn at first when I heard that I wouldn't be receiving aid, but it's good to hear that the TAships are well-publicized and available. Hopefully you'll come in Fall!
  6. I looked up your experience and numbers, and I'm confused why I didn't even get a partial aid offer. My numbers are slightly better, but I have less work experience. I didn't realize that a 2-year differential on experience completely disqualifies me from aid.
  7. For the people receiving aid, may I ask what kind of background numbers you have? I'm curious what it took to receive aid.
  8. I saw the installation of that art piece-- it was on the same day as the admissions info session in November. In terms of quality of life, I think you'd be hard-pressed to find a better city than San Diego/La Jolla.
  9. I was going to say that those numbers seemed really high, but then I realized you must be talking about the out-of-state tuition costs, which are significantly higher. I'm hoping they get the aid out soon, waiting has left me rather anxious.
  10. I just now realized that I was responding to a question from the first page of the forum. Sorry for the stupidly late reply. Has anyone else submitted their seat deposit and decided on IR/PS?
  11. During a chat on last Tuesday for admitted students, they said that they would notify everyone in the next two weeks (so, about a week from now). They'll email everyone to either inform that they did not receive aid and link other financial aid information, or email them to let them know that packages will be coming via snail mail.
