The last couple of years it has. But we don't have to give up hope! Maybe they've figured out a way to update without shutting down for several hours and it'll come as a surprise! ;-)

At this point, I think it's safe to say that the maintenance message isn't going to appear today and the soonest we'll see the results is next Monday night/Tuesday morning. I'm really disappointed. That feels like so long from now!

I'm disappointed to say that it's just you. It took a little longer than usual to load and I started to get excited, but no dice.

I think you spelled "stay up until 5am" wrong. But in all seriousness ... In practice, the results come out before the scheduled maintenance is over. I got my email last year around 3:30am EST, and other people were able to log in and see their status around then. I remember there being talk last year that in previous years the results were available closer to 2:00-2:30am EST. So if you're on the west coast, you might get to know before you go to bed.

I had a big deadline last week, and now I'm free to worry about this again. IT COULD BE THIS WEEK, GUYS! Probably not, but we're definitely in the right time frame now. I wanted to add a comment to vertice's list of Fastlane messages. The last couple of years, these messages appeared the morning they were talking about (so April 5, April 4, and March 29, respectively). In other words, once the message appears on Fastlane, you only have to freak out for a day, you don't know very far in advance.

I know the release is still a month or so away, but now that it's basically March I'm starting to get excited! Here are the release dates from the past several years (copied from previous years' threads): 2006 - Thursday, March 30 2007 - Friday, March 23 2008 - Tuesday, April 1 (Results were accidentally released\hacked the day before) 2009 - Friday, April 10 2010 - Tuesday, April 6 2011 - Tuesday, April 5 2012 - Friday, March 30 Is it too soon to start speculating?

And now the waiting begins! Only four months until we find out...

This might be a silly question, but if I got an Honorable Mention last year, should I include that in the awards section of the application?

Looking at other people's reviews, this whole process seems even more arbitrary. I got E/E VG/VG VG/E which resulted in an HM. None of the comments said anything even remotely negative. I see other people in my discipline with equivlaent or even worse responses. I guess things like high school location, gender, and difficulty of reviewer really matters a lot.

Got an HM... I know it's an honor to get one, but it doesn't come with any conciliatory prize money, which I really need. And now I get to go through the grueling process again. Really curious about the review sheets.

Cheme24 : Their exact quote is "Eligible applicants for the 2012 GRFP application will be notified of their results around early April, 2012." Rather tricky of them. I think they like playing with our minds.
