  1. I will be getting B.S in biology at the end of this semester. However, I have been taking some psychology classes, and I think I'm more passionate about studying psychology than biology. So, I'm thinking about going to graduate school and get M.S or Ph.D in psychology. But, my problem is, I have bad science (biology) GPA (in the low 2~ range), and it brought down my cumulative GPA. My psychology major GPA is okay (3.4+) I heard that most of graduate programs look at your cumulative GPA. So, is this mean even if I have good psychology major GPA, it would be hard to get accepted to psychology program? I still have about 16 more credit hours of psychology classes to take, and I'm thinking about staying one or more semester in college to get psychology degree. Since I have taken more than 100 credit hours, I don't think my GPA would improve by much even if I stay in school for extra semester or two. If it will be difficult to get into psychology graduate programs, I'm not sure if I should stay in school. In that case, would it be better if I just graduate at the end of this semester with a biology degree? Any advice will be greatly appreciated!
  2. From these 4 GRE prep books (Kaplan, Cracking the GRE, Barrons, Official Guide to GRE,) which one do you think is the "best" book?
  3. I'm thinking about going to graduate school and getting MS or PhD in biology.. I like biology, and I'm willing to spend another 5~6 years studying about biology. However, I'm not really sure what job market is like for people who have Phd or MS in biology.. What are job options that you can find? I like working in labs, but I would be better if I can a job in hospital. I know that it can vary between jobs, but what is like the average salary for people who have PhD or MS in biology.. I'm kind of worried that even after finishing graduate school with PhD or MS, I wouldn't be able to get a job. By the time I finish graduate school, I will be near my 30's, and have a lot of loan taken out.. "No job" adding to this will be the last thing I want.. Thank you all for the help!
  4. Is it possible to apply for two different programs in the same school? (like apply to biology and chemistry program..) And then choose the program (If I get accepted) that I want to get my PhD?
  5. I know that this can be a very basic question.. but.. On the school website, it says "at least 3.0/4.0 for final 60 semester hours" I'm a biology major, so is this mean in that final 60 semester hours, I can only include science courses? From what point do I have to count back the "60 credit hour?" If the deadline for an application is December, the latest GPA that can be considered for admission is spring. So do I have to count back 60 credit from the spring semester? I'm confused because if I calculate it this way, I will have another 2 semesters before I get my bachelor's degree (and graduate), and this wouldn't actually be my "final 60 credit". If I took classes at other school, and even if the credits cannot be transferred to "my school," do they still include those credit in the 60 hour? Also, I used GPA forgiveness for a class, and the grade for that class is not included in my GPA. I'm not sure if graduate school admissions usually include the grade that I dropped when they calculate GPA. Thank you all for the help!
