    FAFSA

I tried searching, but I apologise if this question has been asked and/or answered before. When I received my EFC, I had a C next to it, apparently because I had never registered with the Selective Service. Since I didn't arrive in the US until after I was 27, I was exempt from doing so. The FAFSA website instructed me to call SSS, and so I did. They asked me to send a letter of Status Request, providing proof that I was exempt from registering. I have sent such letter, and I believe all the documentation I included should suffice (copy of my passport with entry stamps and so on), so I should receive a status letter soon-ish (4-6 weeks apparently). My question is, once said letter arrives, do I need to bring it to the FinAid office at my new school, or do I need to send it on to the FAFSA people? Has anybody else here been in this situation before? any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
  2. What are you supposed to wear to admitted students day? business casual or full-on suit?
  3. I was admitted in early March and I sent my reply form and deposit cheque a few days later. As of this morning I hadn't heard back from them at all, my cheque had not yet been cashed, and I couldn't RSVP online for Grad Day, so I decided to give them a call; I spoke to an admissions counselor and it seems they've received a much larger number of applications this year than they did last year, so they're running a bit behind. They told me to RSVP by sending an email and to create a student account, so I now have an american.edu email address, along with access to resources like a "get ready for grad school" checklist which seems to be quite useful. I'm still waiting for course registration and financial aid information, and I've no idea when/how I'll get an advisor. Has anybody gotten that far?
