anyone want to go halves on a pie and stay up all night waiting to see if they post the results even though they probably won't until the 15th?
-
i know people in earlier posts were talking about how some people are notified all right but some were not notified by email until after the list was posted. Although the latter case might be more the exception...regardless, I don't care as long as we find out in some shape/form. "My mom's a fish! [or something like that, cannot remember exact quote]" -What's his name from As I Lay Dying "Eagles don't flock." -Stupid inspirational poster quote in my incompetent college adviser's office

is he the one who kept speaking in old english or whatnot? (I know, I am too lazy to scroll back to previous posts and check). If so, yeah, that guy was funny. Seemed like he was the first to go crazy...
-
but it was available for a little after the scheduled maintenance and now it's down...so maybe a good sign.
-
does not look like they posted winners yet... but yeah, the message is gone.
-
They say in the FAQs that fall grades were not required. I don't know why the date would change like that. I don't think it changed for me.
-
i hope having publications is not that important...I know someone who got nsf without any publications. whatevs. will know soon enough (god willing).
-
I feel like if they have figured out all the winners and HMs, why would they wait to post it? This is redonculous. They'd better be delaying to add more winners...
-
I am guessing that they will post it on Tuesday.
-
Man, they'd better be putting the results up during that time from 5 pm April 5th to Monday at 12 am...but I don't have high hopes. Waiting UC Berkeley? I was too last year, then I called and they promptly sent me my rejection, as I had mentioned in an earlier post...

well, I'm glad lab work took my mind off of this waiting game for most of the day...now, back to thinking about it. so were those people who said they were notified last night lying? My friend said everyone is notified at the same time, but I know a lot of people here keep saying that they did not get notified in previous years until after the list had already been posted. Ay caramba.
-
yeah, it's shut down for me too. guess I should have tried to access rating sheet before they shut it down but too late. well, we'll know soon enough I am sure.
-
hmm...maybe i am the only one who actually did stay up most of the night for nsf...well, hopefully tomorrow (today) will be the day they finally put us out of our misery. Good luck everyone
-
yeah, it always said log in applicants and fellows
-
yeah, i guess it's unlikely. must...not...sleep...just kidding.
-
oh, i see what you're saying, cool!
-
i mean it still only shows up to 2008
-
mine still looks the same...argh. and I don't see a diff in 2009 award screen either
-
it would be funny if they funded that and then waited longer to notify people in subsequent years.... :? Okay, I'm just kidding everyone, it would not be funny.
-
 :? blah...bored of waiting.
-
I have to say, reading all these posts about the changes, real or imagined, happen when you log in is quite entertaining. But, I admit I am checking very frequently too. I feel bad for people who are trying to decide on grad schools...would be nice to know if you have your own funding.
-
Yeah...sometimes admissions coordinators mess things up...I applied to two programs with the same application at one school but I did not get into one of them because the administrator for that program did not realize my recommendations had been submitted. Sounds like you've done as much as you can to deal with your admissions person. In terms of funding, I don't know how it works in other fields, but in biochemistry/biological sciences in general it seems like usually getting fellowships is not essential--however, if I were applying now to grad schools I would have valued them more--the lab I joined has funding for many projects, but my professor does not have funding for the project I would be most interested in. Thus, I was told I could not do this work, while another student who'd been offered a fellowship through the school was told he could. Granted, I do enjoy what I have been working on, but the other project, and the fact that I had a few fellowship offers elsewhere, is always in the back of my mind.

t_ruth, are you still waiting to here from grad schools (assumed rejection)? I ask because I applied to grad schools last year and had to call one of the schools before they finally said "oops, uh, we'll email you your rejection letter right away." anyways, looks like last year they did not tell people about NSF until March 31/April 1...waiting sucks. who else did nutrition/biochemistry related proposal? also, who else is doing research in something totally different from what they proposed to do?
