Quick question about Alternates. For a country with both ETA and Full Grants, do ETA alternates only receive grants if other ETA principals do not accept? Or can a Full Grant alternate be offered a grant if a principal ETA candidate declines? Basically, ETA alternates get ETA declines, and Full Grant alternates get Full Grant declines, right? Thanks, and please post if you know anything more/different

Anyone want to speculate about when Alternates should hear? Do they notify as soon as a principal declines, or do they wait the full month?

Congrats LLJK! If you don't mind me asking, how were you told that you were promoted to principle? And was it because of additional funding or a principle declined?

Have any alternates heard back? It's usually about 2 or 3 weeks after alternate notification that people find out, right?

I've never posted before, but I was notified a few weeks ago that I'm an alternate for a full grant to Ecuador. I'm wondering, after reading how many people received acceptance notifications from Rachel or other advisors directly, if there may have been an error: mine came directly from Jody, the Latin America coordinator, but I was told I was an alternate. And, the exact minute mine was sent, two guys tweeted about receiving full grants. Am I reading too much into this?
