  1. Thanks! I heard some good news so I am not worrying about the masters program. Now I'm just worried about making a decision! Good luck to you too! Jenn
  2. Accepted to Lehigh University for a phd in psychology w/ a fellowship nomination.
  3. I got accepted to University of Vermont's experimental psychology phd program with full funding via taship. I have to talk (I don't know if it's an interview or just a chat?) to people at Rhode Island and Rutgers on the phone sometime next week!
  4. I am not sure about housing... I have gone to the Temple area of Philadelphia many times. It is pretty awful and the crime rates have been exceptionally bad this last year. You can take the train right from a Philly suburb (Manayunk) right to Temple though.
  5. I was ready to apply to some masters programs but I had a phone interview at a place I really want to go to. And i'm too broke to keep applying. And things to do : video games & joints I should be working on my honors thesis or my classwork but oh well.
  6. I had a phone interview with a professor from Vermont today! I think it went well!? Now... more waiting!
  7. January is really long. I thought with my semester starting and classes kicking my ass (oh and they certainly are) I would be too busy to worry about these things!!
  8. Hello there. I applied to 10 phd programs in social/experimental psychology and I was wondering if I should apply to a masters degree program as a backup before the deadline (March 1st for financial aid I believe). I haven't applied to one so far because it is so difficult to get funding for a masters program in psychology and I already spent so much money/time on my applications. I am worried because I was never a research assistant as an undergraduate (we don't have them at my tiny school). My GPA is around a 3.96 and my GRE scores are competitive in my mind (740 Q, 730 V, 5 A, and 99th percentile for the subject GRE). I am doing a combined senior/honors thesis this year so I do have some research experience and I completed a summer internship in psychometrics. Anyone in the same boat or have any advice? Thanks a bunch!
