Anyone know? I have a CUNY admission that I'm still thinking about, and if there are people waiting for a spot I'm inclined to think a little faster.

I see several new people have posted to the "I am Attending X" thread - want to post who you're turning down? Please post schools you were waitlisted at as well as schools where you got acceptances. Thanks!

Me-ow! And on that note, let's get the board started back up! I need something to read during the day - good procrastination and all that. Anybody get any news today? Of any variety? I got no new grad school news, but can tell you that my cats hate the new food I bought them. Aaaannnnnd.... Discuss.

Um. Columbia is IN Manhattan, and parts of Brooklyn aren't that far away. If you're worried about convenience, Columbia is convenient to lower Manhattan - right near several subway lines, both express and local - and the Upper West Side is also really nice in its own right. And as for Brooklyn, the commute is NOT that bad. Sure, some parts of Brooklyn are far out, but not all. And Manhattan isn't the center of life in NYC anyway. Brooklyn has a lot of great stuff of its own, and you won't need to get to Manhattan for much, if anything, should you choose to live there.

don't know, but why don't we keep this thread focused - your question might be a better one for the general history admissions 2009 thread, or for the decisions, decisions section of the discussion board. but hey, if you do turn them down, tell us which ones!

Give those of us on waitlists hope. If you have accepted another offer, what schools are you turning down? And what's your area?

Anyone on it? How did you find out? Did you find out where on the waitlist you are, and when you would know your status by? Also, what field are you? Also, has anyone gotten an official rejection by any means other than calling the department? My status online hasn't updated and is still no decision!

Has anyone's status been updated on the website? Mine hasn't!
