This year's waiting game is particularly awful for some reason. How's lab?

All I want for Christmas is CIHR....

OH MY GOD!!!! I THOUGHT I WAS ALONE!!! I had *so much fun* putting in all of the pubmed IDs. Also WTF at the interviews things. My supervisor didn't remember exactly what day things happened/first aired/first printed, so we ended up just putting the first of the month for everything. And...it doesn't help that she's had about 100+ people in the lab...

I talked to my supervisor who has sat on these kind of committees before. Basically, they will scan over the application and decide if they like it or not and then mark it accordingly. A friend of mine has identical credentials to me but I ranked top 200 (not enough to get the award, sigh) and he ranked 800 something. I hesitated typing this, but I have a first authored Cell paper. I got a 4.2 in publications. COME ONNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! edit: Mike, I too feel your pain. I was miserable the entire day but I had to suck it up as well. I just found out a few people I know got DRA-A. What sucks is that their research is considered much 'hotter' than mine. It seems like biochemistry and cancer sounds much more appealing than genetics and development. ARGHGhghghghgha0igheaigheaghag sorry for my facerolll rant. I am teh rage.

Seems like nobody that I've talked to so far was successful either. Some had their apps completely trolled.

Yeah... I cannot believe it. I asked a guy in my department who has no publications and said he got a score of 4 out of 4.9. I busted my ass off for a first authored publication (it's developmental biology, so getting one is like hitting gold) and I got 4.2

Failure.

What a way to spend a Monday....sitting in the lab being agitated from the heat (for some reason it's 28C in here) and pushing F5. Also getting WAY too excited every time a new email arrives in my inbox. I am very tempted to email them. So tempted.

OMG I dreamed about it too. I had a dream that I was ranking 1599 out of 1600. The next dream was that I was only going to get paid in crispers. 35,000 crispers a year. *facepalm

I have no idea. I was just thinking...maybe they won't even come out today. Maybe they came out early last year because it was a...weekday? Do you think CIHR admin work on the weekends? I doubt it... But if they do post it, I'm thinking closer to 10pm.
