The Texas programs are definitly behind. I just received a rejection from SMU and only received my rejection from UT this past week or so. I am still waiting on Texas A&M, Rice and Oklahoma. Waiting is really killing me, especially knowing that the remaining schools are probably rejections as well. Good luck to all those still waiting and congrats to those that were privledged enough to be accepted. If anybody has any news on these geology programs please let us know. Thanks

I got another rejection yesterday. I received a letter in the mail from SMU. Congrats to those that were accepted. I'm still waiting on Tex A&M, Rice and Oklahoma. Has Anyone heard from any of these programs. I know there was one poster that got acceted to TAMU for a PhD but are there any others. I realize that this probably means that I'm rejected from all three but there are still alot of people getting accepted still. I want to keep hope alive but don't want to be crushed when the enevitable happens. I would like to know what's happening but I get the feeling that calling or emailing them to find out may be the wrong move. Any advice or info out there? Thanks

Yep. Got that Rejection Monday morning. That's 3 rejections and no Acceptances. I still have 4 schools left. All I need is one.

Has anyone heard from any of the Texas Geology programs. I have 5 programs (4-Tx, 1-Ok) that I have yet to hear from. Every day brings less hope for acceptance and higher probability of failure. If you have been accepted, rejected, or waitlisted to any of these programs for Geology or Geophysics please send me some info on when it happened and how it went down. I would just like to hear any information. Right now I would rather be rejected than have to wait another month. I may get my wish. I just want to know where I will be living before I graduate next month. Seems like the entire geology applications world is running a month behind this year. Any Info would be greatly appreciated. I hear alot of... "well they would be crazy not to accept you" and... "I'm sure you'll have all the programs you want to choose from, you'll see". and... "I just don't understand why you didn't get in!" but my favorite is... "whatever happens will be the best option for you. Everything happens for a reason." Maybe I should put that on my resume under education, "everything happens for a reason"
