Tomorrow is the deadline to accept NSF! I wanted to know for sure I wouldn't get this fellowship before accepting the NSF I just don't get it. Their yield rate couldn't possibly be bellow 50%, so they really shouldn't need to offer it out to more than 400 people. They could play it safe and offer 200 then have 300 people on the waitlist, but that would still let them reject 2500 other applicants. Sorry for the rant...

I guess we should be glad they communicate at all.

So has anyone gotten a rejection email yet?

So...theoretically...we should all hear back by tomorrow.

I haven't gotten anything. I think people probably aren't in a terrible hurry to reject or accept. I feel like they could make a reasonable assessment though...considering how many applicants there are and how many rejections they historically have received, so as to reject a large portion of us by now.

I just want to know! I have a feeling biosciences is a done deal though - someone a few pages back said they were notified on Thursday, so I bet anyone who was going to turn it down would of done so by now.

I'm also in biosciences, and haven't heard anything.
