Strategy

Hi, anyone's attending UT Dallas? I'm a bit concerned about housing. My budget is ~600$, is it possible to find something in that range in early August within some reasonable distance (and safe)? I am international, so I won't have a car, at least not for the first couple of months. Oh, and I want to live alone (no roommates, please). Also, is campus housing (waterview) worth it? I've read some poor reviews about it... Thanks!
