The apartment is actually through a friend of a friend who is a student in Stockholm, and I'm really hoping it will work out. Because it is a student apartment I need to register, but they are going to help me figure out how to do that - it's all very confusing. I hope you are able to find a good apartment for your family - how exciting that you guys are all able to travel together! I'm looking forward to meeting you too.

I will also be in Stockholm. I may have found an apartment, but I need to register as a student in Stockholm before I can get it, and my hosting institution is Lund, even though my fieldwork is based in Stockholm. So I'm trying to figure this all out, and quickly. Good luck with your apt search, if this one falls through I'll be right back in there with you. Is it just you, or with you be with a partner or family? I will be there with my fiance.

I haven't looked at this forum in a while. For the other Sweden Fulbrighters here - has anyone received other grants for your research in Sweden? I am trying to figure out if other awards are "compatible" with the Fulbright and would be interested if anyone else has done this. I am especially trying to figure out if the Fulbright for Sweden can be combined with the Swedish Institute Guest Scholarship, which I just found out I received today (!) Any insight would be very much appreciated.

Congrats! I'm glad you got the big white envelope too. I didn't get a medical form yet either, but I went ahead and scheduled a physical anyway given all the talk on the board about how complicated the medical clearance is.

I got an acceptance letter today by snail mail for a Fulbright research grant to Sweden. It came in a large white envelope, and was sent from Sweden (!), sent by air mail first class. It was postmarked April 9th, and I live in NYC. Hope everyone gets good news soon, I know how awful the waiting period is!

Does anyone know about how many alternates each country gets? LIke if your country gives out 10 Fulbrights, would they pick 5 alternates?

jtb01 - I also applied for a full grant to Sweden - I've been checking my mailbox like crazy. That's good to know they already met, I just want to know! I'll post here when/if I hear anything. Thanks for posting the results of your phone call info gathering.
