  1. Hi Surefire, I actually wrote a small paper on breaching experiments that you might be interested in! It's going to be in Teaching Sociology in a couple months but you can find it online already: http://tso.sagepub.com/content/early/2014/02/03/0092055X14521021.full I hope it's interesting and that I don't come off like an obnoxious self-promoter! (I am being a self-promoter; there's really no two ways about that, but I hope I'm not being obnoxious about it.)
  2. Hi all, I'm a graduate student in sociology at the University of Virginia, and I would like to share with other grad students and potential grad students a blog that five UVa sociology grad students have had running for the past few months. Check it out: http://sociallyblogging.wordpress.com/ One of my favorite things about being a grad student in sociology is the opportunity to engage in so many great conversations with my fellow grad students - sometimes about sociology, other times about things only tangentially sociological (at least on the surface) but still fascinating. This blog is our way of taking these conversations and putting them in an accessible forum. If you like what you see, follow us!

    Virginia

Hi everybody! I'm going to be at UVA for sociology in the fall, and I was interested in hearing from and getting to know other people who are going to be there. As for myself- I did undergrad at UNC-Chapel Hill and I'm interested in gender and family issues. Even if you aren't going to Virginia, I'm interested in hearing anyone and everyone's perspective on its sociology program. Thanks!
