  1. Hey all. I am thinking about applying for a PhD in political science but I would say that my situation is rather complicated. In my first 2 years of undergrad I had a 2.55 at a top 50 school, I then transferred to another top 50 school and had a 3.55 my last 2 years (with more credits at the second school). My major was in psychology with a bio concentration. When I graduated, I went to a master's in psychology program at Boston U and ended up with a 3.6 gpa there. I have decided that I am not necessarily interested in Psychology and I would rather study East Asian politics. My GRE score is 610 verbal and 660 math. Any thoughts on a good course of action? thanks.
  2. Hey all, I just completed a Masters of Psych at Boston University (not something I would recommend doing) thinking that I would continue on to my PhD at another school. However, the program kind of destroyed my interest in psychology. I am thinking about switching over to something in East Asian studies given that I have a strong interest in the political and cultural climate in that area of the world. I am not sure whether to apply to a masters in EA studies, or to just apply to poli sci or international relations phd programs. Some of my work in psychology relates to cultural differences and I have taken some poli sci classes, but besides that I don't really have any relevant experience. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should do? Given that I had to pay a lot for the master's program, I don't necessarily want to do something else unfunded. Thanks
