  1. Thanks for your reply. The thing is I didn't do as well as I intended to in my M.Sc. The first two semesters were really good when my GPA was close to 3.6 mark but after that everything just started going downhill when I started having some non-academic problems I couldn't deal with then. So my GPA slid down to 2.9 at the end of the fourth semester.I don't want to live with a GPA that will hinder my chances(like it did) of getting admitted to a PhD program into a good university even in Spring/Fall 2013. So I was thinking why not apply for a MS program ? I think it will give me a chance to improve my grades and also it will help me prepare better for my PhD.
  2. I had applied for a PhD in Statistics (Fall 2012) but I didn't have much luck barring a couple of not so good universities which admitted me without financial aid. So I am planning to apply for MS in Spring/Fall 2013. I am a little undecided about whether I should do MS Maths/Statistics. I have a few queries regarding same. 1. I have both my undergraduate and masters degrees in Statistics. However, I have done courses like Real Analysis, Linear Algebra and Multivariable Calculus in my masters. What are my chances of getting accepted in a MS Maths program ? 2. Which combination would be academically more favorable if and when I apply for PhD in Statistics again ? B.Sc. (Stats) + M.Sc. (Stats) + M.S (Stats) OR B.Sc. (Stats) + M.Sc. (Stats) + M.S.(Maths)
  3. Hey all I know it is probably a little too late but I want to apply for MS Statistics/Maths this fall. Are there any universities that are still accepting MS applications ? If not, what are the advantages/disadvantages of applying for MS in spring.
