  1. You've heard back? I have yet to hear back from Oxford. I applied to the MPhil and haven't heard anything. I keep checking the website and nothing has changed. Is this odd?
  2. Thanks. I guess my concern is that the religious ed program isn't really a research degree. As someone who will seek to enter a phd program, would the MTS or religious ed degree have more weight? I'm trying to weigh the options. As a member of the BTI, students at BC may also enroll in classes at other institutions within the BTI, including Harvard Divinity School. BC also has the largest catholic library in the nation. Is the extra notoriety of BC worth the extra money?
  3. This is a general question for anyone here: For someone in this situation what are your thoughts? Someone is admitted to Saint Louis University ma in theology and given 60% tuition waiver. They're also admitted to boston college mts program and given 25% tuition. Which would you pick? Is the extra cost worth the name and program of BC? I should mention the 60% offered by SLU is contingent upon enrolling in the religious ed. track, which is not geared toward research. If the individual is desiring eventual admission to a top PhD program does it make sense to spend the extra money? Thoughts?
  4. They compd my hotel but not the flight, so no. I don't fancy the idea of paying for a plane ticket for two days. I'm a poor undergrad student!!!
  5. What would be funny but also agonizing is if they didn't release the decisions until Monday.
  6. Did bc give you much funding? You don't have to answer that but, I was just curious because I was somewhat disappointed with their offer.
  7. I just called ND and anyone who was admitted to the MTS program has been notified. Final decisions for the wait list will be made soon and the people will be notified in the next week or so. The school is on spring break right now.
  8. So here's something interesting, tell me what you all think: I've been checking my HDS application the past few days and today, decided to thumb through the application proof. While browsing I noticed my current BA GPA had been changed from 3.78 to 3.22. Now, I know for sure I did not enter that GPA for my HDS application - that's suicide. However, I am currently finishing a second undergrad degree which has an institutional GPA of 3.78, whereas my cumulative GPA is a 3.22. My first bachelors was completed in 2009. I didn't feel prepared for graduate work, and my GPA was really low. So, to rectify the situation I decided to go for another. Regardless, I just noticed the change this morning and, of course, HDS admissions office could do nothing "at this moment in the admissions process." She did say I could email them, noting the discrepancy and providing them with a record of the issue. So, now what little hope I had for HDS has been shot down. Or so it seems. Did I make the mistake by inputting my institutional GPA? So annoyed!
