Hi everyone again Is there anybody looking for an apartment right now? As for my first stay at UD, I'd like to live on campus but still haven't applied for it. Still, I've tried to search for some apartments around the campus but really have no ideas of where to live. Do you have any suggestions on apartment or room renting? To me sharing a 2-bedroom apartment is okay. But I'm a bit worried about renting a room in a house as I've been living alone for a long time. What areas are unsafe to live? I will arrive in Newark by early August as my visa doesn't allow me to enter the States before that. So what is the chance for me to get a place to live with an affordable price (around $500-600)? By the way, is there anyone looking for a roommate?

Thanks katreese. I saw your post at the city guide as well. Now I'm still waiting for the I-20 from UD to apply for the visa. I heard that DE doesn't put a tax on commodities. What should I bring and what should I buy there?

evlcomputer, when did you start hunting for your apartment? Since I'm coming to UD from Thailand, can I make an advance booking or do I have to get there first and then go door to door checking for the vancant apartment myself?

Thank oceanwave for asking all those questions that I want to ask myself. Please anyone living or going there help answer the questions. From the UD website, I can only tell that it is a very beautiful campus with great greens. Now I'm starting to think about the house hunting too. Should I live in the on-campus grad residence?

Congrats Experi-mentalist. I'm envious you got offered wih full funding. I got the offer too (by mid-March) but without funding. Wondering why anyli_t was waitlisted with a possibility of funding...Anyway, I was impressed by Gaby and Jeff who interviewed me over the phone. I think I will receive the offer. So Experi-mentalist, perhaps we will see each other in Newark.
