Reply from Harvard GSAS: "We cannot offer you a specific date when your department will notify applicants of decisions, but all decision letters are mailed by March 15th"

I know every potential US candidate gets called to interview, but does anyone know if Hopkins interviews every international before offer? I contacted Harvard on Monday and they say they reply within 24-48 hours so I should have an update tomorrow.

No word here either. I did see two BME PhD interviews show up on Results search this week though. Do they only accept after interview? I'm holding onto the quote from their application page of "small number of telephone interviews will be conducted" for international students. If so then not getting an interview email yet might not mean rejection. Maybe?

For anyone else waiting to hear back from JHU. Contacted them today and their interview invites will be sent out early next week.

Most places i've seen only recommend emailing professors if you have a specific research idea you're thinking about that they'd be able to supervise. For a non-research Masters then contacting them may not be massively helpful.

I'd never thought about UW before, I'm from the UK so there's alot of American unis I havent heard much about. And now i've looked them up it seems their neural engineering research is alot more biologically based than i'd like.

Masters: Biomedical Engineering with Neurotechnology (In Progress) GRE: 159/168/4.5 Applying to Ph.D. programs in BME with a Neuroengineering focus at: Johns Hopkins, Harvard, MIT, Stanford, Duke Already started my applications and statements of purpose. So much to write in so little space. And some of the universities have really disorganised applications.

Recently started my PhD applications and i've found almost all of them have a section asking if you've had contact with any of the academics in the department before. I've seen people recommending this before but.. How do you initiate a beneficial dialogue with them? And how helpful is it to do this?

Recently started filling out my PhD applications and two of my choices are asking for a list of where else i'm applying. I know this is probably paranoia.. But will this affect their decisions at all? Would there be any difference between filling it in or leaving it blank?

There is a research component to the Masters but like for you it wont start until long after i've sent my applications. Just wondering, Will you be getting all of your references from your original institution or will you try to get one from an Oxford academic?

Been watching the forums for a while and finally decided to post. Wonder if anyone could give me an idea if the PhD programs i'm looking at are realistic and if there is anything else I could do to improve my chances. I am mainly concerned about my research experience (Or seemingly lack of it) as most people on here seem to have 3 years plus and my university didnt offer any research opportunities for students.
