  1. Hey, just seeing if there are any people starting their studies this fall. I'm starting a MA in musicology at University of Calgary this fall - not very known for its music dept but I plan to make the best of it. I don't have an undergrad degree in music, but I already have a masters in cultural studies and have some piano and voice training. I'm interested in popular music in general, but I also have an interest in music of the Classical period and its transitions to the Romantic period. I have a number of ideas for my thesis but I'll probably narrow it down to one right before I arrive at my new school. What programmes are you all going to? What are yoru research interests? Has anyone started thinking about what they're gonig to do their research on? It would be great to hear from you guys!
  2. I'm moving into a graduate apartment at the Unviersity of Calgary and in the residence newsletter I saw a link to Residence Linens -> www.residencelinens.com Have any grad students in Canada have used this service? I'd like to hear some first or even second-hand experiences.
  3. Minx is actually one of my nicknames... some people call me Queen Minxy... sooo there you go pretty boring actually lol
  4. I actually like watching my shows on television when they come on live as much as I like watching online. On the one hand, I do like being able to watch shows on my own time. On the other hand, I find that I get more done if I have a show to watch at a particular time. It actually pushes me to get more work done in some sick, twisted way =P Also, like most of us, I spend most of the day staring at a computer screen. Personally, I don't necessarily want to come home and spend MORE time in front of a computer screen...not even to go on fb or twitter.
