Hey all! I'm finishing up coursework in Ancient Judaism, and I'd really like to do research abroad next year before I take my comprehensive exams. I know that's unconventional, but I have my reasons. I'm too late for Fulbright, but I'm applying to the DAAD and some other smaller grants. But does anyone know of any other scholarships for 6 months-1 year for students who are not yet ABD?

I just started a PhD program in Ancient Judaism straight from undergraduate. I had taken Hebrew, Aramaic, Latin, and German, and I took Ancient Greek the summer before beginning my program. I had applied to 7 schools and only got into one, but I have full funding, and it's a highly regarded program. However, I'd definitely advise going for a masters first. I have to take five classes a semester in order to finish one time, and sometimes I feel like I'm playing a giant game of catch-up.

Thank you! I just don't love the sound of this because it sounds more like it's geared towards religious leaders than academics. But I found a reading group, so looks like I'll be ok.

Hey everyone! I'm starting a Ph.D. in Rabbinic Literature in the fall. Right now, I'm doing an Ancient Greek intensive, and I'd potentially like to continue my Greek in the fall. However, I'm having trouble finding literature courses, even at Union Theological Seminary. Does anyone know of anything?
