Congratulations! If you are talking about the MyBama website nothing has changed on my “Admission Type:” Probably just waiting for the Graduate School to mail out rejections…. Disappointing, but oh well
Well, I don't think there is going to be any good news. I think at this point we are just waiting for the Graduate School to update the admission decision to "rejected."
My application status changed from "recommend" to "decision" today. However, my admission decision still states "decision pending." Probably not a good sign. Probably just waiting on the graduate school to reject me
While the process of waiting for decisions can be gruesome, remember that there is always next year. You should not take out loans for a PhD in history. Familiarize yourself with the pay of professors, even at leading universities, and you will think again about taking out 100k in loans.
I have a feeling that this means nothing in regards to the chances of you being admitted or not. I think that it is simply indicating that the Graduate School passed your file on to the admissions committee in the department. While I could be wrong, it looks like South Carolina already made their decisions.
I asked this a couple of posts ago, but somehow the conversation shifted back to talking about POIs. Has anyone heard from South Carolina? I saw one lonley admit on the results page. Also, any news on decisions by UGA?
Is it possible to get into a Poli-Sci PhD program with a MA in History? Also, what are your chances of actually getting in when neither of your previous degrees is in Political Science?
I have a somewhat strange question… what are some of the subject lines you guys/girls used when emailing pois? I am just afraid that my email land in the spam folder if I use the wrong subject line.
.
I am going to contact POI’s here soon. However, I need to figure out what to put into the first email to the professors. Any advice on how to approach the first email to a POI?
