  1. To anyone waiting to hear about Notre Dame, I have a friend who interviewed there today. She said all of the finalists for the history PhD were there. It sounds like if you didn't do an interview, it's highly unlikely you'll be admitted.
  2. I just received a rejection email from WashU. So, apparently they're still working through their applications.
  3. It appears that UGA is still sending out acceptance letters to their PhD program. Perhaps there is still some hope for those of us waiting to hear from them. Not sure what sort of funding or assistantships are available at this point.
  4. So far, I've only heard back from two schools, South Carolina (rejected) and Arkansas (accepted, no funding). I'm waiting to hear back from Notre Dame, Rice, Tulane, and UGA. I didn't get an invite for an interview for Notre Dame so I'm doubtful about them. Rice just started contacting people so I may hear something tomorrow. No word on Tulane yet. As for UGA, they've had two waves of admitted students so I'm doubtful that I'll get in there either or if I do that I'll get any funding. Anyone else have any info on these schools?
  5. I've still got four schools I'm waiting to hear from. One, WashU, just started sending out rejections so maybe I'll hear something tomorrow. Otherwise, this application season is going to be off to a depressing start.
  6. Rejections went out via the South Carolina website today.
  7. My status also changed to "decision" so perhaps we'll hear something tomorrow. Given that they've already sent out earlier offers of admission I'm not holding my breath about being accepted or accepted with funding. Still, maybe they're just working through the stacks and still have money to hand out. We'll see what happens.
  8. I noticed that a number of people had heard from the history department at University of South Carolina. I was just checking my application status online and while it says a decision is still pending, my application no longer says "completed", but it's now "recommended". Anyone know if this is any reason to hope for good news? Also, given that they've already notified other people, should I hold out any hope for funding?
  9. Thanks. Someone posted about getting an interview request a week ago, so I'm not holding my breath.
  10. I applied to the PhD in history at Notre Dame. I noticed that some people got contacted about doing an interview with them. Does anyone know, do you have to be interviewed in order to be admitted? I know they seem to take a long time to make decisions. I'm just curious.
