I agree with you and I see what you're saying--my apologies for coming off that way. To be clear, I don't mean to invoke it against those who are URM in any shape or form. It was just a frustrated comment in reaction to general hypersensitivity of this forum towards nearly every other comment (exaggeration) posted.

I truly admire your ability to come up with an appropriate response via a YouTube video in just ten minutes. Bravo.

This entire conversation started because of a perceived slight that was, in fact, non-existent. Of course we can take offense to things that aren't necessarily directed towards us. It just seemed to me that asleepawake was insisting on taking personal umbrage because DH's comments were "very thoughtless" with respect to Keely. Again, I'm not debating the necessity for discussing AA. This forum is just way too hypersensitive about people stepping on other people's toes.

I don't think DontHate said anything remotely near "I know why you really got in." I realize that things can be tense on this forum, but let's try not to read into comments too much? And yes, getting or being nominated for a diversity fellowship doesn't take away from any of his/her accomplishments as an applicant.

None of my schools will start notifying until next week at the earliest and I'm already thinking about the next application cycle... Clearly losing it here.

I definitely just read through all of last year's acceptance threads and this has at least doubled my anxiety about admissions results. I love this forum because it's the only place I can go to, but I also hate it for the same reason ...

Checking updates on this thread as soon as I wake up has already become a daily ritual... (The second thing I do is to go to the results page)

Seconded. My top programs also happen to have the latest deadlines. I will be revising my SOP/WS for the next two weeks until I submit.

Is anyone else having massive trouble uploading docs for Columbia? This is not looking good hahaha

They say roughly double spaced 2 pages or 500 words, so I'm going with the former. Somehow I managed to fit ~700 words that way.

Can anyone confirm that the deadlines for Chicago and Columbia are 12/15 at 11:59PM? I think I'll have to submit in the afternoon after I submit Cornell by 5PM, but I'm paranoid that Chicago and Columbia are also due at some specific time that I'm not managing to find on their websites b/c my brain is fried. Living on the edge

Wait, why not apply to Chicago and Columbia? I've only heard wonderful things from people around me... I know that Cornell is due 12/15 5PM EST. And lastly, hurrah for all of us working right up until the end. The next 72 hours or so will not be pleasant, but--I hope--it will be all worth it in the end.

Am I going to be the only one working up until the last hours to submit December 15 applications? Lovely.
